" he could not possibly be connected to the cult in any way, or he would heve never, ever put that picture of the obese Rawat wearing a Krishna crown on his album cover."
I left the cult in 2004.Remember there had been no community " satsang" or that kind of thing for years. I had moved around; living in France and then back to England a couple of times ( and different places within those countries). I never even heard the " rule" about getting rid of old pics , mags etc and kept them until my very last move, 3 and a half years ago, when I finally got fed up with lugging them about ( shame , I now realise ). Nevertheless I still believed all the bullshit and meditated and went to see the lord ( paying registration and buying photos and music CDs....). I am trying to say that it was/is perfectly possible to support Rawat's cause without being the least bit "politically correct" or on-message. In Devendra's case he probably had an influential dose of the hippy-style devotion ( complete with Indian trappings ) of his parents. From the article "T" re-posted he seems quite proud of the " King of the God's" name he was given by Rawat. He may not be a premie but he still lives in his dipsy dreamworld about it all, just like I did,as it was so much a part of his formative years and early ( probably happy for him) family life.
On the "Sgt.Pepper" Beatle's album many of the photos were of people ( usually famous) who influenced them from childhood onwards( including a guru or two?) so that could be one reason he uses the Krishna pic on his copycat cover....plus it's more colourful than a businessman in a suit.
