the Indian food, in India ( the Ashram, New Delhi...Yummmyyy) or just around the camp-site there, from those big pots.

In the early eighties there were premie programmes every Sunday in a hall in West London with Indian food provided by the Indian premies. That really brought the punters in...

Leigham Court Rd Ashram in Streatham served up all manner of spiced beans, unpronouncable vegetables and other concoctions, with tofu of an evening.By then I wasn't an ashram premie but if I was around I was invited. Irene was usually mothering everybody at that time.

Premies were very  focussed on food......to the point of obsession .I guess when you've been told that enjoying life is a useless waste of time unless it's in the service of the living lord and grovelling at his feet and everything else is maya and kaliyuga and a distraction from our true purpose , there's not much left to enjoy.
