I enjoyed reading your update.  Very amusing sentence in connection to Prem Rawat's habit of collecting citations and awards when you say:

I'm sure that any reasonable person seeing how Rawat's collects these tokens will see it for what it is, an exercise in hubris and self promotion..  Still, I guess it keeps the premies happy in some muddled way.
