There is an experience you get when you meditate that you might feel inclined to interpret as something holy. This was what I was referring to when I said what I said about the experience of meditation being available with or without a master. Perhaps I should have said with or without the techniques too - it took me a long time to figure out that the meditation thing was quite separate from the practices you so eloquently describe. The meditating thing is available if you just sit quiet enough for long enough. Maybe we need to differentiate between practising the techniques and meditating if we are to escape cult speak.
