In the quotes from Steiner, I am assuming that 'master' is used as in 'schoolmaster' rather than the 'perfect' kind. If so, I agree that teaching is a 'terribly dangerous exercise'. When it's done right in a school, the student remembers the teacher all their life. Actually this also applies when it's done very wrong. Funnily enough, although I listened to Rawat for 25 years I can't remember him teaching me very much. Not surprising considering his qualifications. John. |
