I thought that was a novel by John Macgregor.

He wrote and published it in 1986, winning the Adelaide Festival National Manuscript Award.

Plotline is that the body of a 12th century queen is discovered in the crypt of Westminster Abbey, who turns out to be Berengaria, wife of Richard the Lionheart, and is strangely absent from historical records.

She is technically still alive, and a group of medical students plan to revive her.

It turns out she has Knowledge, conferred on her by Saint Kabir while in the Holy Land on crusade with hubby.

Hmm. Very good for a first novel, but a bit wordy.

I have a copy, sent to me by John in happier times, when I was emailing with him before the legal problems.

Incidentally, I believe the figure of 25% of fathers is exaggerated, and they reckon it's more like 10%, and this far more true in rural circumstances than towns.
