Umm, yeah. I'm hardly an innocent, and being something of a questioner I've been questioning my Dad's faith ever since I developed an ability to see things from someone else's perspective, and became increasingly disappointed with his answers. Especially when I started studying philosophy at university - we'd argue right down to a really interesting point, him being rational all the time, and then when I asked him something he couldn't counter he'd draw the 'it's all just mind, it's not real, it's just concepts, not from the heart' line. I never bought the 'mind is evil' side of the argument.

I remember visiting ex-premie.org a number of years ago but being put off, a) by the strongly emotional rhetoric (which I'm seeing echoed here), and b) because I was still suffering from that sense of being somehow better than other people. Mike Finch's website was what I needed though. It's really important to me that arguments are delivered with as little emotional rhetoric as possible.
