Agree, nya.  The cult principal that Malibu Prem was the living messiah of our time, just added to the zeal and the need to waste no time getting on the bandwagon.  So, you maybe get involved because of an experience they claim you will have, how it's the ultimate, but the need to jump in head first and devote your life, that only came from a belief that Malibu Prem was the living God, and this might be your only chance in a gazillion lifetimes to be with, and serve him.

But there were lots of other motivations as well, including that feeling of being "special," or at least "more special" than the poor, confused people of the world, including that head cheerleader who treated you shabbily in High School.  Now, you were better than her, finally.
