>Now I hope you guys don't take this the wrong way< And what way would that be ? >Why don't you shift the focus back to yourself? Those of you who went through the awful ashram phase for those many years, why don't you get together and sue the pants (or loincloth-yeck) off him? < Perhaps before placing the 'problem' on to other contributors here - you might consider why you need to offer 'solutions' as your first response to this forum ? The fact that a discussion takes place here (it is a forum afterall) does not imply that the contributors to the discussion define their lives by that discussion. >Use your 'knowledge' for yourself for a change.< One of the more 'impairing' messages of Rawatism is its inherent encouragement toward egocentricity. Early on that egocentricity was characterised an obssessionality with the 'self' - and its relationship with god/guru, now as revised by Rawat it is simply an obssessional concern for the self to by 'happy'. The purpose (in part) that this forum and other web sites (see links on the forum header) created by Rawat's former followers, fulfills is the creation of a connection to a wider society which in itself serves to break the 'cult' mystery and opens up the whole sorry tale for ownership by the world at large. Of course those of us that do write about the history, our experiences, the damage and the deception will be open to the charges of swapping one obssession for another, of dwelling on problems for no good reason and of 'not moving on'. Those charges go with the territory - what is more interesting is the motivation of those who need to make such charges ! Hope you stick around for a bit Abe - you may find that you haven't moved on quite so much as you think Nik |
