My mom 's talking about some "party" she's going to in Malibu tonite. Has anyone heard about this?

I told her to watch out for peer pressure to contribute to the mission. Strangely she said, "there will be drinking there". It sounded weird how she said it. They get you sauced and then hit you for a donation I suppose. 

I tried to talk about how lame it is that the greatest purest "experience" in the universe needs alcohol enhancement, but I could tell she wasn't getting it. Her way of dealing with stuff like that is, "oh you're so hung up in the 70's". She blames everything weird on "the seventies".

I wound up not wanting to be too much a wet blanket and told her to have a good time, just to not "write any blank checks to those fuckers". She said she wouldn't but I don't believe her. A fool and their money are soon parted.
