Thinking about California Boy's candle and unlit matches crack. In a way, he's right. Let's assume he is the candle, as he so obviously does. It takes matches to light a candle. He had matches. He was lit and fed the flame needed. But, if the candle is insatiable and keeps requiring more and more matches to feed its flame, the matches will burn out. They will be lying there, unlit. Some will have burned out painfully, trying desperately to keep that candle happy. Some will go out in disgust as they realize this candle is a sink hole of greed for the light they can give. Some fortunate few might get a glimpse of the candle's parasitic nature sooner than others and get away with only singe marks. A "true" candle needs one match and then gives off light and warmth to all who see it. It cheers the heart and warms the soul and it totally gives of itself doing this. A candle that can do nothing but require more and more matches to feed it, however, is a drain and eventually saps every match completely of it's light. California Boy may be a candle, but it is quite clear which kind of cande he is. Congratulations to all you unlit matches who saw the candle as it really is and who left while you still had some life in you! Well done!
