Hi Joe,I got a copy of the Mysterious Aliens (or whatever it's called) video a month ago and I believe that it confirms my impressions of the early premies being overwhelmingly counter-cultural (is that less offensive than "hippies").
As well as having sections of old DLM movies from an early Boulder "festival" which has lots of counter-culturals milling around the movie ends with scenes from the end of a darshan line in England where the people are again counter-culturals.
Even a couple of Elan Vital's videos I saw 10 or 15 years ago (Passages?) talks about the counter culture in a way that shows it considers it part of DLM history. And then there are the photos of a young Mike Finch on his web site
