My other post in this thread is a copy and paste of Charles Glasser's The Truth About Maharaji from www.archive.org or the Way Back Machine has got some funky HTML in it and I cannot edit it nor can I reply to it. (MODs, PLEASE DO NOT DELETE.  The Forum is still intact.  It's just that post.)

Regardless, the post is a good starting place to visit Charles Glasser's 2001 webpage that is no longer available publicly.  Don't be afraid to visit the link behind the picture of Maharaji on the first page.  You will be taken back in time to see Maharaji's old webpage, also preserved for posterity by the Way Back Machine.  Or you can click the following link to see Maharaji's old website:

http://web.archive.org/web/20011009000005/www.maharaji.org/

I believe that it's incredibly important that www.archive.org has Glasser's webpage that chronicles the thoughts and opinions of a very dedicated and very devoted cult member on a very controversial subject - Guru Maharaji (aka Prem Rawat, the Lord of the Universe, etc.)  This material is very germaine to the discussion on Maharaji.  And as more and more premie websites get removed from public access for reasons we can only guess at, it's important that premies, ex-premies, people on the fence, and people on the verge of getting involved with Maharaji are able to view this information.

To me it appears that at this point in time Maharaji is being very careful in his re-invention of himself and it would almost appear that he has given orders to remove websites that might not be 'synchronized' with his efforts.

It will be interesting to see if Charles Glasser, the copyright and privacy expert lawyer, attempts to have www.archive.org remove his webpage.

I see it as a case of broadcasting an opinion from a soapbox on a street corner and then trying to retract it.  I believe that once you 'put it out there' you either have to live with it or publicly recant and give reasons why the statement or statements were incorrect.

In this case, Charles Glasser comes out and declares his love and allegiance to Maharaji, a very controversial figure.

Sorry, Charles, but you can't unring the bell  You've put yourself out there and you gotta live with it.

Finally, it's very interesting to note that the HTML meta tags were thus on his webpage:

META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="ex-premie, Maharaji, Maharaji, Maharaji, Maharaji, Maharaji, Guru Maharaji, premie, Knowledge, inner peace, Elan Vital, Divine Light Mission"

With 'ex-premie' being the number one tag it seems that the purpose of Mr. Glasser's webpage was to send a message directly ex-premies.  And certainly his commentary is far from congenial in treating ex-premies.  In fact, it would appear that Charles Glasser might have been the first premie to coin the term 'Hate Club' when referring to ex-premies in this very barbed and offensive page:

It takes all kinds of people to make this crazy world...

So what now? You might have read some really nasty stuff about Maharaji and the people who practice Knowledge. I know, it doesn't seem right, does it? What kind of people spend every waking hour hating or being angry or trying to deconstruct something like Knowledge or a person like Maharaji?

I've learned since first creating this page and reading hundreds of e-mails that it is unfair to classify ALL of these people into one big group. In fact, I've come to learn that there are different reasons people can choose to become unhappy, and different reasons that some of these people are confusing themselves and others and in worse cases, attacking other people, including Maharaji.

And some of them DO attack. It's one thing to publicly question the value of Knowledge or a Master, but a handful have gone much much further. Most people call this elite squadron of crazies "The Hate Club." And to be fair, someone, I guess under the misshapen idea that (s)he's helping things, has decided to give them "a dose of their own medicine." All I can say is that two wrongs never made a right.

Mr. Glasser, could you tell me who these "Most people" are?  That seems like quite the generalization that has little substance behind it.  I sure hope your book betters the kind of writing you exemplify on your old webpage.

Finally, 2001 was a brutal year for ex-premies with websites like the very libelous and illegal CAC website that was based on a server in Moscow, Russia. It seems that there was a lot of heavy hitting webpages aimed at ex-premies circa 2001.  And certainly, Charles Glasser's webpage was one of them.
