Henna,

I wasn't mocking anyone and I happen to like Rjchinook a lot, because I love strong women!  That goes for you, too.  I was surprised when she said she was going to pick up and leave the forum as a result of my post. Please don't misread my tone of voice when you can't hear it, and don't be so ready to give me so much power.

I said I wouldn't sign the petition and gave my reasons, that's all.  Look, it's real easy to write and sign a petition, and I don't think that particular petition has any teeth, because it's not petitioning anyone, and even using the word cult these days is risky and dubious. Also, most exes are too afraid to sign their name here, much less sign something like that because the Rawat cult does have teeth (and a lot of money for retribution).  But you know that.

It's real easy to write on a forum that folks should do this or that, like write to all of Congress, hire an attorney for a lawsuit, etc., but when the rubber meets the road, it takes commitment to do things like that.  Have you followed up?  How many members of Congress have you written to thus far?  Do you have the letter writing campaign organized?  See?  It's easy to make a declaration of what folks should do, but the doing part is the hard part.  But, hey, stay the course.

Please go ahead and persue those avenues if you believe in them, by all means, don't let me stop you.  Nothing would delight me more than to be proven wrong.  Just because I said I don't think they're effective avenues, doesn't mean someone, somewhere along the line wouldn't notice and take action.  Like I said, you give me too much power.  I'm just a country bumpkin from Vermont with a really big mouth.  Ask my husband, he'll verify it.
