The UK Charity Bill had it's second reading in the House of Lords yesterday - it will now go to a Committee stage - but (allowing for the summer recess) things look like they will progress quite fast. How the new legislation will affect EV is not absolutely certain but EV UK will have to show that it's activites have 'public benefit' - it will not be enough for them to say they are 'educational'. Of course EV might opt for religious designation - which will make for very interesting discussions.
