If Rawat believes he's God, he's conning people by telling them he's not.  If he doesn't believe he's God, he's conning them by implying he is.  Any way you cut it, the lying white-washed past, the evasive non-answers, the concerted, thirty-some-odd-year program to pressure people to not question, doubt or think for themselves, it's a con.  The secret money channels, at least then, possibly now, it's all a con.  There isn't an ounce of truth or honesty in any of it.  None.
