Hi Danny,

We worked full-time for the Lord of the Universe and were privileged to be in the presence of Himself every day of the week.  Who needed money?

To my knowledge there wasn't a payroll for ashram premies at DECA, and none of the ashram premies ever got paychecks or cash payments for working at DECA.  So without pay, there wasn't any withholding of any kind.  I never even filled out a W-4 and never received a W-2 form for "employment" there.  I do know that the married (or other "non-ashramer") premies that worked there full-time did receive some type of compensation, but I have no idea how they were paid or if it was processed as a legal payroll by the DECA corporation.

The DECA ashram full-timers usually received an ashram allowance of about $10.00 or $15.00 per week, but that came out of the Broadripple ashram budget.  We would get little white envelopes with the cash inside, placed in our mailboxes at the Broadripple.

Financial matters there were on a strict need-to-know basis at DECA, and I never asked because it wasn't my job to know anything about it.  Maybe someone else knows about how the pay was handled for the non-ashramers.  I don't think they got paid much, and there weren't too many.
