"People were laughing hysterically."

That was something I noticed during my spiritual tourist years from the late 80's onwards, when I tried to 'keep in touch' by attending 'events' now & then, but otherwise had zero contact with premies in general.

Rawat would make some Alf Garnet/Archie Bunker type comment & the place would erupt. I never thought through the implications of that, although I didn't really like it, being one of those high minded types who was useless at rugby (aged 12),& most importantly, one who'd trained himself by then to go with the Fakir Trick & never to doubt.......

There was a general palpable feeling of relief though, that the Incarnation was laying off the fire & brimstone aspect of being connected to the Infinite. That the Master was starting to 'play' with his devotees, just like it was always supposed to be back in the days when Krishna tootled his flute & Rhada took her knickers off.

Gone were the days when that commanding screeching voice demanded total & utter abasement to the will of the Satguru.

There's something adolescent about this master/student relationship, the way it's turned out. Now he seems like one of those teachers who raise a laugh on the last day of term, by cracking a few jokes to show their human side.

Which would be maybe ok, if he'd taught anyone anything worth knowing to begin with.
