Jerry,
This could be one of those posers, no doubt! I think you may be on to something. Something familiar...... something Taoist! Going with the flow isn't thinking about going with the flow..... it's just going with the flow. If I "try" to meditate on shooting an arrow, the arrow flies all over the darned place. If I just shoot the arrow, more often than not, I end up cutting the fletching off the arrows in the target bullseye with each successive shot, especially if I am using broadheads (flying razor blades, for lack of a better description).
When I have a good day practicing, it means a ton of work that night....... putting the darned fletching back on the shafts. If I "think" about accuracy, my arrows don't even scare each other, much less kiss! Fortunately...... I have many more good days than bad.
But, you are right. If someone were to try to teach me to "meditate on archery," it would blow it all away. I think you may be right all around..... if you have been taught to meditate, you may actually be further away from meditation that you were before you started.
How's THAT for a poser....... good one, Jerry!
