...but it was in abstruse german translation and goes much further. It seemed too wacky I think. Its in his book "The Philosophy of Spiritual Experience" ...while we are recommending books to each other!

To Steiner the fact that the language of philosophical discourse is a picture of physical language (grasp, concieve, throw, embrace etc) suggested an actual evolution of consciousness (human beings) from a less substantial awareness into a solid embodied one. Metaphor is only a method of description of  "spiritual" movement, from the standpoint of  the more physically embodied mind. In the act of thinking, the imaginative consciousness as always still operates with its original fluid non physical movement.

To clarify his point he developed a system called "eurythmy" to make this repertoire of pre conscious imaginitive movement visible at a more "incarnate" level. It looks wierd though, a bit like Isadora Duncan on ecstasy and is in the hands of earnest students and devotees. I've done loads, (ie not earnest or devoted )and it makes much sense in the doing of it.

Great subject this, and so germain to the Knowledge ripoff, with its dancing mind/light patterns and harmonic inner mental music, all hammered home with the masters mystic authority and total ignorance of what he is manipulating

As always premies, the message from uncle Bryn  is "caveat emptor". K can send you to sleep for decades!

Love

Bryn
