Emphasizing faith, such as Jesus did also happens in secular matter, for example emphasizing faith in the possibiltiy of victory by an officer in the military. Of course, the difference is that victory may be possible and can be measured objectively in the case of the military but if you believe in a religion then you will also find emphasizing faith by your guru healty.

In other words, as I said before, the question whether a healthy guru-disciple relationship can exist is more or less equivalent to the question whether there is truth in religion.

I think it is important to distinguish criticism of Rawat that also applies to religion in general or most forms of religion and criticism that appplies more than average for Rawat. Rawat stiffled frew thought more than an average religion.

By the way, I think that Budda quite strongly emphasized critical thinking.
