At the risk of spoiling your levity Danny - that Genie story has all the makings of an infantile anxiety fantasy about an insatiable (but essential to the child's existence) parent. I'm sure that there were/are many premies who fell for that psychological reprise in establishing Rawat as their supra parent. It must be quite seductive - locked into providing for the endlessly Rawat appetite, no doubt provides for an enduring release from ever having to encounter the murderous mothers and disaproving fathers of the individual psyche.
