I had no intention, other than to state that if something happens, in public, then it should probably be responded to "in public."  That was my only real point.  I was responding to Gerry's post more than anything you had said..... that's all.

I really didn't want to get into the middle of the whole thing...... just the concept of public and private, that's all.

Let me put it this way...... I learned a rule long ago, "praise in public, discipline in private."  If I have a problem with the MODS banning someone, especially if I think it was done capriciously, then I would like to do that privately.  It takes the personalities out of the picture and makes it less "personal."  That way, I can talk about the "act" which I found to be errant, vice making it look like the "person" is a bozo for having performed that act.  See what I mean?  Additionally, I could be all wet...... there could have been some really great reasons for the banning and I would look pretty dumb bringing it up without the requisite knowledge...... see what I mean?
