On reading the quoted text (in Jim's post) there is something that sticks out like a sore thumb and yet it's something that premies won't have noticed.  The thing that sticks out like a weather balloon in Holland is that all the emphasis is on this person called Maharaji.  It's all about Maharaji, about this one man which for anyone who reads that text reads - personality cult.

I'm sorry premies but you're digging your own grave here (metaphorically speaking) and the more stuff you write about how great your master is, the more you broadcast the fact that this is a personality cult about a supreme being who is better and wiser than all of us mere mortals.

All the web sites such as Elan Vital (and the rest) all point to one man called Maharaji who apparently has the answer to everything and can bring you peace.  That means cult in anyone's book but since premies are already in a cult, they won't have noticed this.

Times have changed.  While in the sixties and seventies it was cool to find a God man from the East who could teach us degenerate Westerners about truth, it isn't quite so cool now and very few people are into having their heads reprogrammed by some Indian guy they don't know.  Those who do try Maharajism these days, don't stick around for very long once they've received the sixth key aka the knowledge (or whatever it's called these days) because there's very little to keep them interested.

So they have these four old meditation techniques which are hardly a secret and some guru in a suit on DVD who isn't going to come up with anything other than what he's already said.  What is there to keep their interest?  They'd have to be worshipping Maharaji like he's God to stick around longer than a fortnight.
