Gurusanjay,

Thanks much for explaining your rather poignant history with Rawat.  That account of your father's last days is very moving; I'm so happy for you that he was able to focus on you, his real loved ones, and not just sing arti in the end.

I've always thought that the best approach to Rawat, if one ever had the chance to ask him something in front of others, would be to quickly make the point that he seems to avoid any honest, uncontrolled dialogue which seems to indicate he must have something to hide.  Challenge him, then and there, to an actual dialogue, not just to answer one or two questions in his evasive, dismissive style but a dialogue.  Make him show that he won't do that.  That's about as good as you can expect.

I can say that when I stood up at a program and started a dialogue with Raja Ji in the late '80's I did so by interjecting when he was brushing off some one's question about their relationship with his brother, "Hold on there!  We were told you guys were divine!"  That got the ball rolling.
