A few years ago I talked with Michael Dettmers, who knew Bill Patterson, and he told me this:

Bill had become an ex-premie, as he had seen maharaji's abusive and hypocritical side way too much.

Bill had left for years, and was working as a camp counselor in North Carolina, when he fell off a ropes course from a fairly high position. He suffered brain damage and broke numerous bones. He had to relearn many basic things that we take for granted in life, and also lost a lot of his memory.

Bill would have had lots to say about maharaji and his poor treatment by him, but unfortunately has little memory of his past with him, and would not make a good presentation about it, due to his condition.

I felt sad when I learned this, as I remember Bill's enthusiasm and honesty and inspiration and what a stand up guy he was.
