It was very interesting to us ex-premies when 911 happened. We were, as everyone else in the world, very shocked and upset by what happened and naturally started discussing it on the ex-premie forum. How could we talk about anything else?
What happened as a result is that ex-premies, who had always agreed about just about everything as a result of being in a cult, discovered that we had extremely diverse opinions about politics (and, of course religion).
It was after many knock down dragged out fights on the forum about politics, post-911, and religion, that we all decided that instead of talking about that stuff here, we'd take it to (and rightly so) the so-called "off-topic" forums. That's where we still sometimes have knock down drag out arguments, or not.
One thing about being in a cult is that everyone always agrees with each other about everything. To finally discover one's ideologies and voices can be both healthy and fun (or not).
