I was thinking it was another joke! It seems like every cult leader uses the same tactics, as if they went to the same school to learn their profession... i.e. they are special and different than the followers, and exceptions can be made in all areas because they are so special.....
Whether it is M, or others like David Berg, Jim Jones, David Koresh, Osho, Stewart Trail, or numerous other fake gurus. They can always live high on the hog with sex, money, drugs, and other sensual pleasures while the flock of followers is deprived of everything.
One thing that bothers me about the DLM and EV is that it would be a shame for folks to be misled to discredit authentic spiritual traditions of India. I personally get a great deal out of the Bhagavad Gita, and other Vedic texts. In fact, I see the Gita as a classic for all times and for all ages. The same as sincere Christians would detach themselves from Jim Jones, and sincere Muslims would detach themselves from nuts/criminals like Ossama Ben Ladin, I'm sure that sincere Hindus (or those who are knowledgeable about M) would detach themselves from EV/DLM. It is true that the spiritual master and teacher is often a part of Hindi tradition, but from what I have seen, a true teacher is always humble and not seeking material gain from disciples.
