No wonder M doesn't want to meet with aspirants as his residence! What a secret!

Prem Rawat doesn't invite premies to come to his "residence."  Plus, he has other places too, not just in Malibu and Australia.  He never answers their mail either.  He pretty much ignores premies, except his inner circle premies, who are mostly also rich and are his sycophants (and do fundraising for him, too). 

Yes, it's secret, but most premies do know he is very wealthy and accept it because they think he is all-deserving of their gratitude ($$$).  It's the "how he got weathy" part they lie about.
