My impression of the store and and the items is that they are are flimsy, cheap, or of poor quality. Shoddy.
That's the opposite of Rawat's image of himself which is mostly braggadocio, him being a wealthy, sophisticated, worldly, self-made private investor. Man of the world.
I also suppose that that's not how premies see him, though: as a braggart. So they must think that even by paying $3.00 for something, that they are playing their small part.
Interesting to me is that after all these years that Rawat is still so hooked on the colors beige, gold, and silver, because he's been using those colors for decades -- they must be his trademark colors.
