I actually think that Rawat comes across as pretty uninteresting and actually kind of shy in ordinary situations.  But it has always been his modus not to associate with the premies except in controlled circumstances, and to some extent this has been to his benefit.

When premies only see him in videos and on stage, always in very controlled situations, it's easier to think he is something special, has special powers, etc.  If they spend a lot of time around him, they find out otherwise, and many of those people burn out and split.
