She's thick as thieves with Melton and Introvigne, and the rest of the CESNUR gang, Andries. You're still apologizing for those cult apologists. The problem with these CESNUR "scholars" is that they're self-proclaimed scholars who got published (unfortunately). They promote themselves as dispassionate observers, or "unbiased" academics, but then they take money from the cults they write about and whose "religious freedom" they support. Worse, that batch of "sociologists" are black and white thinkers because they eschew any form of mental manipulation or thought reform as how people get caught up in cults, and instead call joining a cult "religious conversion." They're stubbornly clueless about cults and as a result, people and their children get hurt.
I've got to be suspicious of any scholar when the destructive cults they write about actively endorse or even sell their books on the streets. The Family has a prominent place on their official website just for Barker's book. Barker is yet another person who took money from her reserach subjects, this time, the Moonies and god knows who else.
