Andries,
The way the word apostate is now being used by folks at Wiki is just plain weird. Really! Who calls themself an "apostate?" I never think of myself as an "aspostate" of Prem Rawatism. I would be quite a weird person if I labelled myself, Cynthia Gracie, Rawat Apostate! LOL
Actually, I don't think of myself much as an ex-premie. I simply use that term to describe that I'm not just a premie who walked away silently, but someone who has worked out why I got involved, how that effected me, and my recovery from being a follower.
It is very hurtful to have someone tell you right to your face, that because of how they define the word "aspostate," it automatically makes you a liar. It's also maddening because it's so arrogant for them to say that. Real hubris. Maybe they do it because they are still in a cult and feel spiritual superiority over others. I don't really know, but it's hurtful and that's why as Dant says, "Wiki is icky." It's not a healthy place to talk about having been in a cult so I stay away from that place.
You don't have to prove to narrow-minded people that you are not a liar. You don't owe them any explanations, either. And as I have discovered in life, the truth always wins out.
Cynthia
