Hi Lexy,

Words are the only way we communicate with each other here, except for a few emoticons that don't really describe or express much.

As you know, I'm a stickler for correct terms when it comes to mental health and I always feel compelled to correct someone if they get it wrong.  No offense is ever meant and I'm sure anyone who is as nice as Jane appreciates being informed!

I'm reminded of the movie that came out a few years ago "Me, Myself and Irene" with Jim Carrey.  The promoters of the movie had put out a bunch of swag for fans to buy -- tees-shirts, mugs, etc.,-- that purposely promoted the "split personality" myth.  Lots of mental health advocacy groups in the U.S. put up a huge protest and they got the film promoters to take the stuff off the market.

Maharaji obviously has problems and I think it's very important to try to figure out how his behavior effected us.  To define it in psychiatric terms from afar is risky and even, especially a professional wouldn't do it from afar.  It may be safe to say that Rawat is narcissistic though.  Were you reading the forum when Livia, myself and others discussed it?  That seemed to fit, albeit, from afar, too.   We can all try to touch on what we think is wrong with Maharaji but without sitting down with him face to face, I don't think we'll ever really know for sure.

I hope Jane continues posting too.

Cynthia
