Note: the sign off of "The Metallica Family".  These guys are cool and they are more of a family than that stinking "one family" we got stuck with when we unwittinly signed up with our father, Maharaji.

For 4 guys, including new bassist Robert Trujillo, formerly of one of my fav bands Suicidal Tendencies from Venice Beach, California, who play very heavy metal these guys have far more class in their little fingers than Maharaji.

And I'll bet a thousand dollars to a donut that more money went to tsunami relief because of Metallica than because of Maharaji.

As we embark on a new year, we are reminded that elsewhere in the world, there is great tragedy.

As the devastation of the December 26th earthquake and resulting tsunamis continues to unfold, we would like to offer our sincere thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families.

Literally millions of people have lost their homes in this disaster in addition to the tremendous loss of life. If you would like to help in some way, below is a list of some of the organizations assisting in the relief effort. It is by no means comprehensive.



We wish you all the best in 2005 as we remember those in need in South Asia and East Africa.
