My percentage for herd immunity was just an optimistic guess, but,yes, I think that 85% is a more realistic number. Here in the US, it's pretty much wide open with the exception of public transportation. However, many of the red (Republican) states are at only a 30 to maybe 40 percent vaccination rates. The TV people are saying that there will be COVID surges in those states. Yes, long term effects are pretty scary. Yet, people, the dumb ones, just don't care or know. |
