I'm pretty certain I'll be exempt from vaccination.  But it looks likely there will be restrictions on travel without it.  I saw this New Zealander on the news yesterday - he looked very triumphant, they have adjusted some cattle swab to a human one - not a swab, a blood test.  A finger prick test that can tell within minutes whether you have the virus or not.  and they were surmising that it could work with some smart device already in place at airports.

I have always kept out of the vaccination debate.  It's such a painfully difficult one and not having children I haven't had to face it.  So very uninformed but unsurprisingly I had this idea that vaccines would become big business, not realising they already are.  72 vaccines by primary school age someone told me.  oh really?  so I go on the internet and find an article saying how mad those numbers are it's really only 13.

Then it goes on to explain that if you count a two shot immunity as two, and you count a multiple disease vaccination by the number of diseases, then it adds up to 54.  And that crazy number of 72 this article is supposed to be debunking is come to by adding 18 flu shots.

they're giving primary age school children flu shots?

I was given a flu shot at school.  I'm guessing our headmistress was given something to take part in the trials.  The parents weren't informed but we were all lined up and given a shot, maybe around 100 of us aged from 12 - 18.  three of us ended up in sick bay vomiting uncontrollably - oh we must have received a double dose is what they said but who knows.

I have sometimes wondered if that is what made me susceptible to a double dose of msg in the packet of spring rolls or only the one I ate?  who knows.
