from my very limited vantage point I have to say I've been impressed by Angela Merkel.

The few brief moments Julia Gillard was PM here in retrospect seem to be dominated by memories of her hairdo.  Not that I'm decrying that but my personal experience of playing at a few different bridge clubs is overwhelmingly in favour of male leadership - the ones run by women are overcome with bitchiness (polite way of putting it) while the ones run by men are more orderly and peaceful.

all depends on the rooster.  I swapped rooster stories with a neighbour recently - she grew up on a farm.  She knew this rooster who picked on the chicken at the bottom of the hen pecking order and raped her silly day after day.   I had this lovely fellah with red and golden feathers, he would sit on a rock and keep a weather eye out and all the ladies would peck away in the grass around about happily.  No hen pecking went on at all that I saw.

Not all, but I think most women prefer male leadership - some because they want to subvert it (be the power behind the throne) but for others it's because it offers a measure of protection from the other women.
