No, I'm not at all accepting that it was "crap". I'm saying that it was imperfect for sure but would have likely been stronger and clearer if all along he had a united country behind him -- i.e. not one labouring under the three-year-long false accusation of Russiagate, which slid into Ukrainegate as a desperate consolation prize. Perhaps, at minimum, China would have respected the US more and not tried to get away with their own deceptions.
Look, they're two different arenas. I get that. But I am making the point that one man had to deal with them both. That had to make a difference.
