Yeah, I was a bit of a wild mushroomer for a number of years. Fun and tasty hobby, really.

I don't know, Pat, but I don't think I would ever eat a mushroom that's been boiled for a few hours. Are you talking about some hard tree mushroom?

Once I found a 'chicken of the woods' tree mushroom that had a young soft edge that cut easily off a hard tree mushroom growing on a oak with a burnt part on the trunk. Anyway, really tasty and just like chicken.

I always wanted to find amanita muscaria even though I was rather cautious about it because it sends some people to the hospital. Years and years of not ever seeing it, I finally found one or two in the wild, but thought better of harvesting them and let them be.

I have seen a fair number of the white killer amanitas throughout the years. They do a nasty little number on you!
