I didn't know you had them down under. Surprisingly small, aren't they, relative to the size of the hill that is. I used to vaguely wonder how many of them you'd need to make a pair of moleskin trousers, before realising far too late in life the material there is a type of hardwearing inferior cotton, making them eminently suitable for C19th agricultural peons. I say inferior because the top comes off after a few washes, leaving them looking shiny & definately not elegant.

I wasn't actually thinking of war between european states, which as you say is fortunately a remote possibility, but within them, which isn't. I don't want to go on about it..too depressing, & anyway the future is not ours to know.
