It's very good.  Parts were snagged from other  documentaries.  I can only stomach an hour or less of watching this cult shit, so this 39 min. vid was my limit.  Scientologists are some badass motherfuckers.

If you watch this, notice some shots of Lea Remini seated.  She's got her arms crossed over her lower belly.  That's some major damned stress.  Remini is doing such a good thing.  She's righteous and courageous.  Cult backlash like Lea's up against is enormous and can take its toll.  I hope she keeps safe and healthy, bless her heart.

It's worth a watch.

If you post a video link you need to put some text after the link so this problem doesn't occur.  So I just added a row of asterisks and everything is fine.

John.

"Disgruntled people make better stories than happy people."

Said the scientology cult apologist with that beaming premie smile I was all too familiar with even as I hid my pain and sadness behind it.

Disgruntled is the word that cracks me up when it comes to cults about detractors and ex-members.  They must all have gotten the same procedure manual update with a chapter on how to use "disgruntled."

I hope you and Connie had a good Christmas and Happy New Year to you both.  Mine was bittersweet and sad.  But I look into the possibilities of the new year with a glass half full, though if it's only "half full," I ought to top it off.

Life is still good.

Love to you both,
Cynthia

and a Happy New Year to you Cynthia.

speaking as one disgruntled sheep to another, I am glad we made it out of the flock when we did, tho sooner of course would have been better it was still good to get disgruntled when we did.

lots of love, Lesley

Like others here have expressed, our new year is happy largely because the past year is over.  Not quite back to bootstraps for us, but certainly rebuilding day by day.  Hopefully just an extreme case of seasonal affected disorder.

(So as not to be cryptic, it's not about health, stability and well-being, it's about those pesky relationships with other people that are often so hard to figure out and cope with.)

Your glass half full outlook is nothing short of a resounding testament to your courage and resilience.  May your glass be topped off with all your possibilities coming true.

And may you find yourself in a perpetual hug from all those who love you throughout the new year.

Love and hugs,

Bob

Dear Cynthia,

I take that word disgruntled ( in the context of exiting from a cult) as a badge of honour .
So raise a glass to all those cult members who dared to examine that feeling of being disgruntled and take it to its logical conclusion.

Regarding yourself....on this forum we all know how courageous you are and its good to see that , despite everything, you are looking to the future with optimism.

Christmas is a difficult time , especially the first Christmas without your special person....of course you will never forget but gradually time will take away the rawness and allow you to appreciate the life you and Tom shared, with less pain. You sound like you are doing great.

Just over 3 Christmases ago my sister suddenly lost her adored son, and I ,my nephew. He died suddenly and unexpectedly one evening after he had put his baby daughter to bed and his wife had gone out to Christmas show rehearsals with their other young daughter. There were no goodbyes . He was 35 and lived very near me. It was like someone threw a hand grenade in the midst of our family.

Move on two and a bit years and his lovely wife, who has coped with her bereavement and the girls, has met a new man, to whom we have all been introduced. Her house is plastered from top to bottom with photos of Peter and the happy times they spent together. We know that nobody can ever replace her husband but the new guy seems to be taking everything in his stride. We just want Kimberley to be happy after all the pain she has endured.

I try to spend time with my sister and reassure her as does her other son.

So Cynthia, love and hugs to you and wishing you all the goodness in your life that you deserve.

Alexandra xx

Dear Alexandra,

What a lovely note.  Thank you.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your nephew Peter.  A sudden death of a young person is tragic and most difficult grief-wise.  There are so many good and kind people in the world who are empathetic to those whose loved ones have passed on.

I've been enjoying your posts on the other forum.  It gets hot there but I think that makes it fun.

All the best to you, Lexy.  I appreciate your kind friendship here.

Love, Cynth  xxxooo
