I think we were a genuine group of friends. We didn't talk about things like service or satsang, or even 'Maharaji' much at all. The thing we did was have dinner together a lot. We were all good cooks which is always nice and we had a lot of fun celebrating birthdays or whatever.
The sedative in the blancmange came in stronger doses, I clearly remember how I would struggle to stay awake seated in a hall during the satsang and look forward to the dinner afterwards - we'd go to a restaurant and I actually recognised it was the best part of the trip. like we'd survived the darshan together and it made it extra fun.
We were of course primarily a group of premies. We shared the same beliefs and we might not have talked much about them or about service and satsang but always enjoyed a darshan story.
