It might be the revisionism that makes it happen. The CNN thing juxtaposed with a darshan line writes itself. Schools, prisons, etc create an argument for relevance.

The video of the cult at it's heyday competes with Wild Wild Country or the one I watched last night "Keep Sweet Pray and Obey" for both "best costuming in a cult leader" and craziest colorful images.
