the fever would've been the start of sepsis which if left untreated would certainly have killed you. You're lucky the antibiotics got there in time otherwise your leg might've had to come off as part of the cure.

I know about this shit from recent personal experience & I'm grateful to the young hardnosed surgeon with the kim jong un haircut, the expensive drug dealer's leather jacket, & the muslim name who gave up his night out to save my life when I turned up as an emergency case. I wasn't really aware it was as bad as it was, & asked him what the risks were of the operation he'd roughly shoved the consent forms to, in front of my face to sign.
