Of course I thought Star Wars was spiritual then, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Both hold up. 

In Australia in 1976 did you have “movie night”? In the great year of the mind, in Miami once a week we would watch a non cult film… I remember Harold and Maude, The Gods must be Crazy, Brother Sun and Sister Moon… I think when I asked for Willy Wonka the community coordinator rolled his eyes.
