I felt the same way about the suits - I think a lot of us did. At that age clothes were such a big deal a language in their own right and the suits were a big red flag, he wasn't genuine. When he added the homburg or whatever, that hat and the overcoat with the fur collar that he posed in for a photograph he made it clear he was selling us down the river. wasn't that when the idealism of the early days got replaced with honchos and bongos? |
