Is it a myth?
We experience altered states of perception under the influence of powerful emotions, at times of immediate crisis, and drugs poisons and illnesses of course. And then there's falling in love. That's like getting all of the above in one!
And then there's the 'this is the love of my life' state. And I think that is what religions graft onto - La Rawat was mimicking the call of that.
