Amazon UK have a special offer on until Christmas - you will get free shipping for buying just one copy of the book.  Make sure you click on supersaver option.

The offer just came out yesterday - good timing

I ordered through USA Amazon, there's no suprer-saver delivery to Israel on both US and UK. They charged me with 11$ for standard delivery, yet the total price is reasonable.

I'm sure Amazon would like to think they can take over the book world - but they'll not defeat world postal service charges.

I hope you get the book soon and enjoy it!

Don't worry Mike - I signed up for an Amazon credit card, which gives 15 quid credit.

I'll never use it again! Teehee.

I ordered my copy yesterday.  To get free shipping I had to have an order of at least $25. So I ordered a Jefferson Airplane CD, "Surrealistic Pillow".  This is one of my all time favorite albums.  I bought my record version in San Francisco in July 1967 on Haight Street (or was it Ashbury, it was the street that ran in the east-west direction).  I'm pretty sure I donated this album to a premie fundraising garage sale in 1978 or 79. So it will be nice to claim back a little bit of my past.  I probably would not have bought the CD at this time if I hadn't seen the movie "A Serious Man", a great new movie by the Coen brothers which features a couple of Airplane songs.

I too gave my copy (among hundreds of others) to Divine Sales. One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small. These days I take 3 pills a day just to stay alive but I've always preferred Marty Balin's ballads to Grace Slick's hippie anthem to pharmacology. Over the past 20 years I have taken great delight in retrieving nearly every single album I gave away in 1973. I'm still looking out for some of the really obscure ones to be released as CDs.

Otherwise I don't want to read it! I have read about too many tragedies lately. Fortunately I have an inkling that the ending, or the beginning of the ending is good.

Which is just about where I stand, at the beginning of the ending! So much older now than when we all started out. Death is so much closer now and yet life is even more vibrant and urgent. I don't want to forget the spirit of hope I had in those days which was temporarily eclipsed by the awakening from the cult with all its accompanying disappointments and disillusionments.

I am still only taking small steps to regain my life and my identity but they are getting bigger and better all the time.

With a little help from my friends.

Love to you all

Karen

. I don't want to forget the spirit of hope I had in those days which was temporarily eclipsed by the awakening from the cult with all its accompanying disappointments and disillusionments.

I felt the same after leaving a violent husband. I met again who I was before I met him. In a way the guru is like a violent husband, he destroys day after day what is a good energy in us. I was desperately looking after who I was when I was young? I had to come back before my twenty years old, before I met rawatmaharaji, I had to remember the nice girl I was before get caught into the someonelse mind.

And at this moment you realise that death is approaching. In those moments I remember that many of my friends are already dead and I take it as a second chance given  to me for free by life.

praline, still a frank zappa's fan.

They said it isn't in stock yet and they will let me know when it can be delivered. We'll see what happens. I could order from the UK but the shipping is a bit expensive and I thought it would be interesting to see what happens. If it doesn't work I will order from the UK store.

I'll order it from my English book seller.

This an important work, from now on, nobody and nothing will be able to rub out the work you've done with this book.

I wish you a nice day, to you and everybody around you. (I assume that the bears are already hibernating, am I right ?)

Praline, what a good idea, to order from a book seller in your country. I forgot about this possiblity, much better than supporting Amazon, which banned me when I engaged in a descussion about "peace is possible" (what a dull title), on their site.

Oh, well, I look forward to reading Mike's book when it arrives (it can take up to 18 days).

Have a nice day Praline. Here in Israel we went through a hit wave. I wish you a sunny winter
